According to nature of supply:
根据使用的电源来分:
1. switches for a.c. only;
2. switches for d.c. only;
3. switches for both a.c. and d.c.

According  to  degree  of  protection  provided  by  the  switch,  when  mounted  as declared, as part of an appliance enclosure
根据开关所安装的产品的种类来分:
For use in
1. a Class 0 appliance
2. a Class I appliance
3. a Class II appliance
4. a Class III appliance
Note: The symbol for Class II construction shall not be used for switches.
注: 开关不会使用IEC60335-1中的 II 类符号

According to the method of actuating the switch
根据触发方式来划分:
NOTE   This classification is not restrictive. Push-button switches may have more than one push-button.
1. Rotary switch;
2. Lever switch;(长杆形)
3. Rocker switch;(普通的翘板开关)
4. Push-button switch;
5. Cord-operated switch;
6. Push-pull switch;
7. Electronic switches operated via a sensing unit (for example touching, approaching, turning, optical, acoustic, thermal or any other influences).
8. biased switch--switch, the contacts and actuating member of which return to a predetermined position when the actuating member is released from the actuated position

According to application level for resistance to heat and fire
依据防火等级来划分:
Level 1 . the glow-wire test carried out at 650 °C.
Level 2 . the glow-wire test carried out at 750 °C.
Level 3 . the glow-wire test carried out at 850 °C.

According to type of disconnection:
根据开关的断开类型:
1. electronic disconnection;-
     No clearance requirement .
2. micro disconnection;
     *No clearances are specified for the distance across the contacts. *Clearance between terminals and terminations shall fulfill the  requirement for functional insulation 1.5/2.5(Pollution II)
3. full disconnection.
     Clearances for disconnection: 1.5/2.5(Pollution II)
